With more than 20 years of experience, Mary Furlong is an expert in boomers and seniors. In 1985, Dr. Furlong started SeniorNet, an online community and network of technology learning centers. In 1996, she founded ThirdAge Media, a media and direct marketing network. She raised over $100 million in venture capital and sponsorships.

She founded Mary Furlong & Associates (MFA) in 2003. In her latest company, she co-produces the What’s Next Boomer Business Summit, Silicon Valley Boomer Venture Summit and $10,000 Business Plan Competition, publishes the “Boomer/Senior Market Report” and, along with the MFA team, serves the marketing, strategy, public relations and financing needs of her private client practice. Her client list includes: Microsoft, Pfizer, ASA, NCOA, Posit Science Corporation and QuantumIntech, Inc.

Her new book, Silver and Gold: How to Profit in the New Boomer Marketplace, Prentice Hall, was published in February, 2007. Ms. Furlong has appeared on CBS, the Today Show, PBS and NPR and has been recognized by Time Magazine, Fortune Small Business Magazine and AdTech.

 

Dr. Sola is responsible for the design and implementation of management and leadership development programs at SCU’s Executive Development Center. Previously, Jan was Director of Program Development for HandsNet, Inc., where she developed an extensive national program and policy network focused on children, youth and families.

For almost 10 years, Jan was Director of Program Services for the YWCA of the USA, New York, NY where she developed national program initiatives focused on leadership, health and wellness, and work/life issues for women and girls.

Prior to this, she was Assistant Professor of Psychology at Lafayette College, Easton, PA.. She received Ph.D. in Psychology from Iowa State University where her focus was on Lifespan Developmental Psychology, with an emphasis on aging. She received a BA in Mathematics and Psychology from Concordia College.
